The Ice-making Theory of Koller Ice Machine

      Ice-making means make the normal temperature water to be ice.

      According to the shape of the ice, we can call them Block Ice, Flake Ice, Cube Ice, Tube Ice and Plate Ice, etc.

      When we say about the ice-making theory, most people will say that it is so easy to make water to be ice. However, a lot of people still don’t understand the procedure that how does the water frozen to be ice, and don’t know the factors that influence the ice output. Here is a brief introduction.

      As we all know, the freezing point of water that is to say the freezing temperature is 0. So, if we want to make the normal temperature water to be ice, we have to cool the water temperature to 0. The cooling process consumes cold quantity Q1;

      Water condenses into ice is an exothermic process; it will consume Q2 cold quantity to absorb the heat.

      The ice will be convey and storage, so the temperature should lower than 0. The cooling of ice also will consume cold quantity Q3.

      Ice-thawing wastage: All the ice making machine need to melt the ice except the Flake Ice Machine. The ice melting process will consume cold quantity Q4.

      Other cold quantity wastage: The ice making devices such as ice moulds will consume the cold quantity when making ice. The ice making device has heat exchange with the external environment. All of that consume the cold quantity Q5;

      So, a general ice making machine take the five parts of heat away by the refrigeration system, thus to make the normal temperature water to be ice, so the ice making machine of different ice-making capacity should match the different refrigeration system.
