Koller Slurry Ice Machine is a type of ice-making equipment independently developed for marine fisheries, seafood processing, and cold chain preservation. Using seawater or brine as the water source, it produces slurry ice (also known as flow ice or fluid ice) containing suspended ice crystal particles. With a slush-like consistency and excellent fluidity, slurry ice can be directly pumped and delivers 360-degree coverage around the preserved items, enabling rapid and uniform cooling.

Koller slurry ice Machine is available in both marine (on-board) and land-based versions. The entire unit is constructed with seawater-corrosion-resistant materials. It is extensively used in deep-sea fishing, offshore aquaculture, land-based seafood transportation, and seafood processing facilities.

Main Features Of Koller 10 ton SF100 Industrial Slurry Ice Making Machine

Direct Seawater Use

The machine can directly use seawater or prepared brine for ice production, accommodating a broad brine concentration range (0.25%–3.5%), making it suitable for most sea conditions worldwide.

Automatic Intelligent Control

Equipped with a PLC intelligent control system, it enables automatic water replenishment, automatic ice making, automatic ice discharge, and fault alarm functions, supporting unattended operation.

Fine Ice Crystals

The slurry ice produced features extremely fine ice crystals. The minute crystals effectively prevent damage to fish surfaces while delivering rapid cooling, quickly lowered the temperature of seafood.

Pumpable Ice Delivery

The slurry ice exhibits excellent pumpability and can be delivered directly via pipelines to storage bins or points of use, eliminating the need for manual handling. This greatly reduces labor intensity.

Q: Does the slurry ice machine have to use seawater? Can freshwater be used?

A: Koller's slurry ice machine is specifically designed for seawater or brine at a certain concentration. Using freshwater for ice production results in extremely poor efficiency due to its insufficiently low freezing point, and the ice crystals produced are overly hard, which may damage the scraping mechanism. Therefore, freshwater is not recommended.

Q: What are the main differences between the marine (on-board) and land-based versions?

A: The marine version features a more compact design to accommodate limited space on vessels. The entire unit and its electrical control system must meet marine-grade corrosion-resistant and vibration-proof standards, and the condenser is typically water-cooled (using seawater).
